About Us

Welcome to The Berrow Cottage Homes

The Berrow Cottage Homes offer convenient, comfortable, and independent living for older adults of limited means in the heart of Knowle, Warwickshire.

Our purpose-built estate comprises 29 modernised dwellings set within beautifully landscaped grounds. We aim to enable our residents to live full, independent lives with the added reassurance of community and light welfare support.

Our Facilities & Accommodation

Our homes are designed for ease of mobility and convenience, catering to both single occupancy and couples.

  • Modernised Dwellings: Unfurnished cottages allowing you to bring your own furniture and create a true home. Most properties feature space and plumbing for your own washing machine.
  • Communal Amenities: Access to a fully equipped on-site laundry facility and a comfortable communal day room (which can also serve as a guest suite for visiting family).
  • Attractive Grounds: Landscaped gardens managed and maintained for all residents to enjoy without the burden of heavy gardening.

Independence & Welfare Support

Living at The Berrow Cottage Homes means coming and going as you please, but with an extra safety net:

  • Dedicated Homes Manager: Our Manager acts as a key welfare worker and manages property maintenance. They can help arrange care through Social Services or private providers if needed, though they do not provide direct 'hands-on' care.
  • 24/7 Emergency Call System: Each home is equipped with a call system. When the Homes Manager is on duty, they respond directly; at other times, the system connects instantly to emergency support.

Life in Knowle Village

Our location offers the ideal blend of village charm and local convenience:

  • Location: Situated directly opposite the historic parish church on Warwick Road and High Street.
  • Village Amenities: A short walk to local shops, a library, the village hall, and the Royal British Legion.
  • Community: Active local groups including the U3A (covering Knowle and Dorridge) and church-led social activities.
  • Transport & Countryside: Regular bus services to Solihull and surrounding areas, with scenic Warwickshire countryside and National Trust sites like Packwood House and Baddesley Clinton nearby.
